What happens when the care that sustains a city becomes invisible?

Last week I presented my ServDes ’25 long paper at IIT Hyderabad titled " Invisible Hands, Indispensable Work. " A Service centric research & design around Domestic work in urban India.

An essential yet mostly informal service that our cities rely on but seldom design as a system. At ServDes, ‘service design’ showed up as aligning people, process, policy and tech so services hold together.

I’m still reflecting on how design can make the invisible legible and actionable.
